Looking for an easy, affordable, fun, yet wildly different place to have your child's birthday party this year? Choose the Erie Zoo and celebrate their day in a memorable way!

We offer a fun and unique atmosphere full of adventure for kids of all ages. Please note the schedule below:

March, April, May, September, October, November: Parties are held on either Saturday or Sunday. Certain dates may not be available due to Erie Zoo Special Events. Additional parties are available during each night of ZooBoo in October.

Parties are not held during December, January or February. But please call the JMC Ice Arena at 868-3651 for birthday party options during public skating sessions.

During the summer months, parties may be held during any day of the week. The latest party is held at 2:30 pm. *ZooBoo parties last a little longer.

10 steps to celebrating a zooper birthday at your Erie Zoo!

1. First thing is first! Please call the Zoo office at 814-864-4091 to check availability of your desired party date.
2. We can send you information in the mail. Please send the booking contract and a $50 deposit to the Zoo at P.O. Box 3268, Erie, PA 16508. This will secure your chosen date and time. You will receive a confirmation letter in the mail once the deposit is received.
3. Your Erie Zoo provides everything needed for the party. You'll just need to bring the cake! And the guest of honor of course! We use decorative plates for the pizza and plain napkins and plates for the cake. Feel free to add any decorative items to the party. Tablecloths and limited decorations are provided.
4. Pizza and 1 drink are provided for each child (2 slices per child). If you wish to purchase additional pizza and drinks for any adult guests please add $10 per pizza (drinks for adults are included in this fee).
5. A Zoo party is action packed with Zoo admission for each child guest, an Erie Zoo party attendant, a visit from some animal friends, a yummy meal of pizza and drink, a treat bag for each child, a birthday t-shirt for the guest of honor and a carousel ride for each child.
6. You may choose to add on a train ride for each child for an additional fee. The train runs limited times throughout the year. Please call the Zoo to check availability.
7. The Erie Zoo does not allow you to bring balloons, straws or glassware onto Zoo grounds for the safety of the animals.
8. Parties are held in the Children’s Zoo party rooms in the Adventure Center. The entrance is located across the bridge to the left (across from the Carousel).
9. Price: A Zooper party at the Zoo is $13 per child for a Zoo Member and $15 per child for a non-Zoo Member. Infants are FREE of charge. Any child that receives a treat bag will be considered part of the party and a fee applies. *Parties are limited to 25 children. Adults may stay at the party free of charge. Please note- the party room comfortably seats a maximum of 35 people. The room gets crowded easily and cannot accommodate large groups.

Frequently Asked Birthday Questions
How long does a Zoo birthday party last?
Parties last approximately 1 and ½ hours. But the room is yours for up to two hours. You will want to put a 1 and ½ hour time frame on your invitations.”
What is the recommended age for a Zoo birthday party?
We recommend our parties for children between the ages of three and 11.
Some of my guests are zoo members; does this change the price of my party?
The only member discount the Erie Zoo offers is to the host of the party.
Is there a minimum or maximum number of guests?
The minimum number is 10 kids, however, we ask that there are no more than 25 children at each party.
Will we have a guided tour with our party?
Admission to the zoo is included in your party package, so you and your guests are welcome to spend the day at the zoo.
How soon can I book a zoo party?
Reservations must be made at least three weeks in advance. We recommend however, that you make your plans as early as possible to ensure the date and time you want. Birthday parties book up very fast!
When is the payment due?
Once you call to reserve a party date and time, you will be sent a form to fill out. A $50 payment is due with the form and must be received in order for your party to be booked.
Do I need to supply treat bags?
The Erie Zoo supplies 3 zoovenirs for each child guest. A treat bag is given out. You are welcome to add more prizes or make your own “goodie” bag.
Does the Zoo provide a cake?
The cake is up to you! It is the only thing you need to bring (besides the guest of honor of course).
Do I have to bring plates, cups, tablecloths, etc.?
Your Erie Zoo supplies everything you need for the party. However, you are welcome to bring your own paper supplies.
