The Erie Zoo is located on 15 acres in the City of Erie. The Zoo features extensive animal and plant collections from the far corners of the globe. Walk through the historic Main Zoo Building and see western lowland gorillas, black and white ruffed lemurs from Madagascar and African waterbirds.
A trip to the Kiboka Outpost is like going on an African safari right in your own backyard! Kiboka offers visitors a chance to get within a few inches of a cheetah, and a few feet of some rhinos. Kiboka also boasts a pair of warthogs, as well as various other animals native to Africa. The outpost itself houses a research center, where Dr. Max Zeller will answer all of your grassland questions
Discover Asia’s mystique as you journey through Wild Asia, a place where exotic native faces mysteriously greet you from atop a 40-foot tall Asian Temple surrounded by a jungle mist. Prepare to catch a glimpse of the red panda as your journey begins. Explore the territories of the orangutan, siamang, white-cheeked gibbon, muntjac and the green tree python.
A children’s adventure awaits visitors at the Children’s Zoo. The Children’s Zoo is the Erie Zoo’s most recent renovation and has become the largest project in zoo history. This area features some never-before seen animals including black-footed penguins, gray kangaroos, geoffrey’s tamarins, and a reticulated python. The Children’s Zoo is also home to the indoor wildlife carousel, Mystery Mountain, and the Wild Things Theater.
