Erie Zoo
Celebrates
100 Years
of wildlife, conservation,
and community

A beloved destination, the Erie Zoo is celebrating 100 years of education, conservation, and family fun!

What started as a small collection of animals has grown into an institution that provides Erieites and visitors of all ages the chance to connect with over 400 animals from across the globe. From the big cats and adorable otters to the smallest amphibians, the zoo has inspired generations of animal and nature lovers.

Over the decades, the Erie Zoo has introduced new exhibits like our North American River Otter, launched conservation programs, and continues to offer educational programs that have made a lasting impact on our visitors.

Our 100th anniversary is not just about reflecting on our past—it's about looking ahead! Big things are in store for your Erie Zoo, and our team remains dedicated to fostering appreciation of nature through memorable experiences and meaningful action.

My heart was filled with joy when I first set foot in the Erie Zoo in 2017, eager to see their Southern White Rhinos and African Painted Dogs, among the other amazing species they care for. With my personal experience working in South Africa for animal conservation, my love for the Erie Zoo runs deep. I support them wholeheartedly, knowing they are making a difference in preserving these species. This connection is not just professional, but deeply personal. My family and I, including our one-year-old daughter, share this passion and are proud to be part of the Erie Zoo community.

My wife (amber) 30, my daughter (Victoria) 8, and myself 29. Were on the train celebrating a family day out. My daughter loved going to see the otters and Joe before his passing. She is 16 now and talking about her own place, the train will always hold a special place in my heart, because it was one of the best days we'd had out as a family.

We've enjoyed numerous trips over the years to the zoo. Every time it's a fun experience and just as much joy as the first time. My little one has enjoyed the benefits of her zoo membership for years and we look forward to many more.
