Party for the Planet
Sat, May 18, 2024-Sat, May 18, 2024

It's time to party for the oceans, the wildlife, and the whole wild world on Saturday, May 18th from 10 am to 2pm! It's Party for the Planet, where you can join the Erie Zoo and the Association of Zoos and Aquarium (AZA) in celebrating our earth and all who inhabit it! This event honors Earth Day, World Oceans Day, and Endangered Species Day.

We will be partying with Wildlife in NeedPurple Martin ConservationPresque Isle AudubonnewBin, Lake Erie Arboretum at Frontier Park (LEAF), and NWPA Beekeeper Association, who will have booths throughout the zoo! The Erie Zoo will also have booths where you can learn about endangered species and composting.

New this year, your Erie Zoo will hold a Conservation Donation Challenge. This donation challenge will raise funds for organizations we partner with for conservation. The "participants" individuals will vote for are our Wild Dogs, African Penguins, and Tortoises. To vote in this Conservation Donation Challenge, every $1 donation through the conservation donation portal on our online gift shop starting Sunday, May 12th, and ending in person at Party for the Planet at 2 pm will count as one vote. The donations we receive from this challenge will go to the Painted Dogs Research Trust, SANCCOB Save Seabirds, and Myanmar Turtle & Tortoise Conservation. We will announce our winner on Monday, May 20th. Each participating species will receive an enrichment treat for "participating" in the challenge, and the winner will become the Erie Zoo's Facebook Page's header photo and will have a personalized social media post about them.

This event is included for free with the price of admission or with an Erie Zoo membership. The event will go on rain or shine.
