Get ready for a roaring good time at the Erie Zoo with Tales for Tails on January 18th and 19th from 10am to 2pm. This special winter weekend event celebrating the magic of stories and the wonders of wildlife! Hosted in partnership with the Erie County Public Library, this family-friendly event will feature a variety of engaging activities for readers and animal lovers of all ages. Whether you're a young reader or just a fan of animals, there's something for everyone to enjoy!
Borrow a book from one of the four Erie County Public Library book stations during the event to read it to some of your favorite animals on exhibit or enjoy some of the library led reading sessions held at 10:30 in the Main Building , 11:30 in the Kiboka Building, 12:30 in the Adventure Center and 1:30 in the Orangutan Building.
In addition to the reading activities, guests can participate in free Zoo class demonstrations, featuring an engaging story, a song, and a live animal encounter. These sessions offered at 11am, 12pm, 1pm and 2pm in our classroom, provide a fun way to learn about wildlife and the Zoo's education programs.
To encourage a love of reading beyond the event, the Erie Zoo has also stocked Free Libraries across Erie County with a selection of books. Hidden inside some of these books are surprise zoo tickets, offering lucky readers a chance to visit the Zoo for free! Community members can find a participating Free Library near them, borrow a book, and join in the fun.
This event is included with the price of admission and is free to Erie Zoo Members.
