Jane Magnolia trees (Magnolia Xliliiflora 'Jane') are part of the "Little Girl Series" of magnolias, which consists of 8 different cultivars that were officially named and released in 1965 by the US National Arboretum. They can be pruned and shaped to be either a small tree or large shrub.

Large flowers bloom in early spring and are up to 8 inches in diameter with red-purple exteriors and white interiors. Delicate, ovate leaves can be up to 6 inches long and fade to a bronze color in the autumn.

Care Practices
Plant in moist, well-drained soil in an area with full sun to part shade. Keep protected from strong winds, as leaves tatter very easily. These cold hardy, small trees can tolerate heat, drought, pollution, and poor soil conditions once established.
