Covid-19 Prevention Measures

Posted on March 13th, 2020 at 1:53 PM

UPDATE: Your Erie Zoo is temporarily closed.

At this time the Erie Zoo will remain open daily 10am-5pm as normal. Presently there are no cases of Covid-19 in the Erie area and we feel is safe to keep our gates open at this time.

We take our visitor and staff health and safety seriously. We are implementing preventative measures influenced by advisories from the US Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Erie County Health Department, Governor Wolf, and Mayor Schember.

Measures your Erie Zoo is taking for Covid-19 prevention:

  • Facility leaders are closely monitoring the situation and keeping all staff informed.
  • Removal of all touchable items and activities.
  • Increased sanitation and cleaning schedules throughout the entire park.
  • Providing additional hand sanitizer stations throughout the park.
  • Advising 20 second hand-washing.
  • Promoting social distancing (standing 6 feet apart).
  • Encouraging all staff and visitors who feel sick to please stay home.

Please remember to practice proper hygiene, social distancing, and health safety.

Once again, currently the Erie Zoo will remain operating as normal. We will continue to monitor the situation and adjust operations accordingly. Please check our website and Facebook for up to date information.
